Sunny
Ranch is the product of the true love and compassion for
horses of
Joseph Mathews
and his
family. Joe Mathews has been
an equine enthusiast for more
than forty years and has shown
pleasure and cutting horses for
many of those years. He continues
to enjoy his gelding Investment
Taylor as a Western Pleasure
show horse, and his own retired
show horses at home. Joe is
also dedicated to producing top
quality show horses by breeding
his outstanding broodmares to
some of the top stallions in the country.
 He has provided each of
his own show horses a retirement fit for royalty here at
Sunny Ranch. It
is these horses and his love for them that inspired him to create a
place for other people to bring their faithful companions to allow
them to spend their final years in a safe and tranquil place.
Joe’s family is also active in the Sunny Ranch idea and it has truly
become a family affair. Their genuine care and love of not only horses
has made Sunny Ranch a place to call home for several rescued dogs,
cats, burros, ponies and of course the retired show string. What a
place to call home.

Jim Lovelace- Jim has many responsibilities here at the ranch, but
especially fixing the equipment that Joe, and the menagerie
of animals destroy. He keeps the fence intact, mows, cuts and bales
hay, and always makes time to torment Joe!

Olivia Kohler- Olivia
is a sophomore at Timberland High School in Wentzville, MO and is not
only active here at the ranch, but also an ALL-STAR golfer, basketball
player, and top ten finisher at MO State Track. In Olivia’s free
time…she works here at the ranch and rides her own horse…Bleu, a
retired polo pony from Jason Rashelbach’s polo string. Bleu was a gift
from Jason, and Joe Mathews for Christmas 2005. Check her out

We would also like to mention Brenda Wasser, Leslie Miller and her
family as well…they are always willing to lend a helping hand and we
are always grateful.
